The Wild Saskatoon Berry has been a part of Canada since day one. The actual name Saskatoon Berry derives from the Cree word "Misaskwatomin". In fact, the city of Saskatoon, in Saskatchewan is named after the wild berry itself. Used by Canada's original native people to eat or use to go along with their favorite meat for extra flavoring. It's also often made into several types of foodstuffs, including pies, jams, wines, cider, and beers.
